Vicki asked us to close our eyes and think about the place, the land where we grew up. In my mind's eye I imagined I was a bird flying circling overhead, over the places where I use to walk when I was a child. Then we drew what came to mind. Ecology of Place Shade, trees, green Earth smell, soil and moss, Cool dew, damp marshland Tree stumps and roots Toadstool, puffball, mushroom Bluebell, foxglove, lady-die Helicopter and conker Sycamore and horse chestnut Sparrow, tit, starling and crow Red squirrel, pidgeon coo Steep path down into the woods Fields of tall grass and pylons Enter marshland and bullrush Spider web and pond skater Bog, mud, pool Lane and road Park perimeter and manicured grass Pitch and putt Tennis court and bandstand
